DIY Simple Scarecrow

Fall is here, which means it is time to get those fall decorations out and have some fun! Here is a simple and cheap do-it-yourself scarecrow that’s fun to work on as a family!

  • 1 One-By-Four Piece Of Wood
  • Clothes, Hat, Accessories
  • Bale Of Hay
  • Needle And Thread
  • Hammer
  • Pumpkin
  • Pumpkin Carving Kit

Lay the clothes and pumpkin out over the piece of wood.

Cut the piece of wood to size to be about 1 1/2 feet longer than the clothes, with a point at the bottom to make a stake.

Place the piece of wood inside the top and stuff the top with hay. Then, pull the piece of wood through one of the pant legs and stuff the pants with hay.

Tuck the top into the pants and sew the top and pants together with a needle and thread.

Use the hammer to drive the stake about 1 foot into the ground.

Carve the pumpkin to make the scarecrow’s face. Place the pumpkin head on the stake and your scarecrow is now ready for display!
